I always liked the way Reed spontaneously rephrases his lyrics while making it still sound totally natural. This vid is cool; as it ends you get to follow him backstage, kiss his wife, etc.
ok it kind of won me over in the end. but i relegate him to the land of tom waits, charles bukowski, and cast iron pans... weird things that provoke strange loyalty in male types.
Yeah, they focus on that guy. He is having too much fun with his wank guitar.
lol to "strange loyalty in male types". I can definitely see a connection to Tom Waits when put that way. Bone Machine was a love it/hate it project. I still remember playing it over and over again in the early nineties. I'm not familiar with the other 2 bands you mention.
Wait... "cast iron pans" meaning actual pans made out of cast iron? Not some primal minimalist rock band?
I had to admit I'm unfamiliar with Charles Bukowski's work except that he's a beat poet, right? I don't know too many female fans of the beatniks. One girl I dated absolutely *HATED* Jack Kerouac et al and she was into other American lit.
yes actual pans made of cast iron, more than one male type has sung the praises of cooking with cast iron. men seem to be very taken with the idea of "seasoning" the pan with oil to make it nonstick. i'll leave the imagery to your freudian imagination.
Well at the risk of betraying my lack of true manhood, I must say sorry, but I'm high tech in the cookware department. The last cast iron pan I owned went back to a thrift store from whence it came. It was starting the get rusty. Plus I got to rediscover several times why God created plastic handles.
oh man, the accounting-major dude playing air guitar in the audience.
