Here's the official website.
This movie looks good. I heard an interview with the producer, Gerald Molen, yesterday. The great thing about it is that they got interviews with tons of people close to Obama, like Rev. Jeremiah Wright for example, and they use his recorded book for his own words. Wright said that the last thing Obama ever said to him was something like "I envy you because you have to tell the truth." Amazing substantive stuff, and no wacky theories about where he was born or whether he is the Twelfth Imam. I can't see it this weekend, but I'm going to try to catch it next week.
Considering that Michael Medved is the last person who would ever get on board the crackpot train, the fact that he so enthusiastically endorsed this movie suggests it must be pretty good. I was actually a little surprised by the interview and Medved's support.
ReplyDeleteYeah, Paul, the reason I value Medved's opinion is that he is very much on guard against making too much of the theoretical and overstating the case. Obviously it's a pretty good bet that Alinsky's ideas permeate Obama's words and actions, but talking about Alinsky for 3-hours a day doesn't sway undecideds.
DeleteMy belief is that if more people had read Obama's own bios in '08 he may not have been elected. But instead they trusted the media to report anything noteworthy and thus many voted for a question mark as opposed to an aging GOP veteran.
Yes, my mother n law read his bios and indicated that they were very revealing. It is not as though he went to great pains to hide his ideology.
