my husband and i were just discussing this: post-Beatles, why did lennon and mccartney BOTH insist on having their wives onstage with them? were they trying to protect themselves from the ghost of the other one with a substitute mother figure? it's just bizarre. can't think of any other rockers who did that.

It was the only way John could satisfy her demand to be in the video, while minimizing the visual damage to the viewer.
