President of Conservative America

That's the problem, isn't it? There's no such office to be won.

Courtesy of AOSHQ, Jim Geraghty handicaps the Iowa Freedom Summit candidates. My three quick takeaways:

Scott Walker - appears to be the one shaping up to win it all, as in winning it all on November 8, 2016.

Ted Cruz - where the President of Conservative America tag comes from, and as such a living lesson.

Carly Fiorina - not with HP for a reason. And we were just talking about the lessons of Sarah Palin.

    Throw Ben Carson into the Fiorina category. All right, he's retired from the medical profession, but the idea that he should be the candidate seems like the epitome of affirmative action.

      Except that Ben Carson was successful in his work.

      And while I agree that he should not be the presidential candidate, Pauli, I strongly dispute the "affirmative action" angle. Many are energized by Ben Carson's words -- race has nothing to do with it.

      Fair enough. He's definitely not Alan Keyes (ugh). So why doesn't he run for a governor's seat? or the senate?

    I had one takeaway from Geraghty's piece: if that's the first tier, it sounds like a good start.
