Self-debunking Style

A conspiracy theory fanatic about whom I've blogged in the past just sent me this in an email. I've reduced the font size for the benefit of readers.

What does the sinking of the "Titanic" (i.e.the Olympic) have to do with the Federal Reserve and financing World War I ?? (As well as WW II and the coming WW III)

And how could ice punch a 5" round hole through solid steel? A total debunking from one end to the other of the official story of the sinking of the "Titanic!"

Albert pike laid out the Masonic / Illuminati plan for three world wars in 1871 :

The plan is for WW III to set the stage for the one World religion and government under AntiChrist and the False Prophet (who now occupies the Vatican) . The present BEAST system will be collapsed (the seventh head of the BEAST will receive "a deadly wound") and then "go into perdition" (Rev.17:8) and come back to life under Anti-Christ (Rev.13:3) who will occupy St Peters at the Vatican (2 Thess. 2:3-4; Matt. 24:15). The True Church will finally separate from this apostasy just as the early Jewish Christians finally separated from the apostate Jewish religious system.

The Jewish people will be betrayed by their vile masonic illuminatist Zionist masters and they will then finally turn to their true Messiah and finally take their rightful place as prominent in the True Church.

It's sad to read the rantings of people who believe whatever reinforces their prejudices. It's sad to me that the emailer, who claims to be a Catholic, would link to an anti-Catholic 7DA nutcase and claim the Pope is the anti-Christ even as the 7DA adherents routinely do.

But it is reassuring to note that for any thinking person, the content in an email like this more or less refutes itself. This man obviously has issues with obsession, grandiosity, anti-Jewish bigotry and gullibility, among other things. His endless spew of insane emails (I get one or two emails from him PER DAY) are sure to contain some things with which his readers will take issue. While it has been demonstrated that conspiracy theorists are inclined to believe any conspiracy theory even when it contradicts other conspiracy theories they hold, my hope is that the constant barrage of immoderate rhetoric and fanaticism from this man will call into question his credibility among readers.

Will they even make it to step one?

I might be pleasantly surprised and the Democrats might take the 12-step plan to recovery as advised by Emil Henry. But I very much doubt it. Maybe a few will. Excerpt:

4: This step requires brutal self-reflection, taking fearless inventory of all the actions that led to the Democrats’ electoral humiliation. Examples might include: an examination of why the lawmakers ignored abuses of power such as the Internal Revenue Service’s targeting of conservatives; illegitimate executive orders; and bogus accounts of the Benghazi murders. Above all, Democrats must reflect on their role in the enactment of ObamaCare, with all the Congressional Budget Office gimmickry, legislative shenanigans and crony giveaways that got it passed.

5: Democrats should openly admit the exact nature of their wrongs. Begin with the spending binge that left the country $18 trillion in debt; finish up with how the Harry Reid -led Senate ran interference for the president, and for Democrats in tough re-election fights, by burying hundreds of bills passed in the House.

6: To shed their main defect—the tendency to perceive America as the problem—Democrats should spend some time on the road examining what alternatives to free-market capitalism and the rule of law look like. Mandatory stops include the Middle East, where real wars on women are waged, and the eurozone, where economic stagnation from years of tax-and-spend liberalism is on ample display. Also on the itinerary: Cuba, Venezuela and, sadly, too many other places to mention, where central control or its first cousin, socialism, produces a certain kind of income equality—across-the-board misery.

Step 11 is also worth emphasizing:

This step calls on Democrats to meditate and pray for the wisdom to internalize these steps and the strength to remain on a path of recovery. The lawmakers should look for inspiration in the example of others who found the strength to shed their former liberal compulsions: Ronald Reagan, Condoleezza Rice , Rudy Giuliani and Phil Gramm.

For your New Year's weekend amusement, the a Keith Principle

It was probably my comments with Pik about Romney, Jeb Bush, and other Republican presidential contenders that got me thinking about this. Anyway, feel free to beat up on or refine this however you want:

- The less qualified as a chief executive officer the President is (e.g., the more dependent on an ersatz-mommy like Valerie Jarrett), the larger and more bureaucratically self-governing the federal government must necessarily grow to be to continue functioning coherently at all.

- The smaller we make our government, the more skilled our chief executive officer must be at actually running it, i.e., making it go and, even more importantly, making it not go when and where it shouldn't.

- Presidents who are more ideologically qualified than CEO skill set-qualified will inevitably bend their ears to the guidance of some type of grand vizier more skill set-qualified in something than they are, someone, by definition, you didn't elect. Therefore, the best way to elect your federal team is to put the strongest CEO you feel is sufficiently ideologically qualified at President and your strongest ideological leaders in active legislative roles, i.e., where ideology gets translated into the reality of law or non-law.

Okay, there you go, have at it.

Cops save black lives

Lee Habeeb argues that cops have a right to be angry at the false witness being born toward them, and I agree. Excerpt:

New York cops are mad at Mayor de Blasio in particular because he failed to mention that 2013 ended with the lowest number of fatal shootings by the police in 40 years in their city. Only eight people died from police gunfire, with a police force of over 30,000. And all of the victims were armed with either a gun or a cutting instrument. But none of those leaders bothered to report these narrative-busting facts — nor did the media.

And no one bothered to mention that New York City is on track in 2014 to have the fewest murders in 50 years. As of the beginning of December, there had been 290. That’s down from 2,200 in the early 1990s. The majority of lives saved were black, because the overwhelming majority of murder victims in the city are black. Do the math. Tens of thousands of black lives have been saved in the past two decades by cops in New York, but Mayor de Blasio couldn’t manage to share that fact in his heartfelt speech.

Cops save black lives. Sensible people see this truth.

I wonder, though, how eager a policeman will be to rush toward 911 calls in some neighborhoods now, knowing that they may face a decision between having either his life or his career ended. Or, will he even feel like patrolling those neighborhoods? Will there be some time in the future when patrolling the worst neighborhoods will be given to the C-average cops? This already is somewhat the case now, or at least there is anecdotal evidence which seem to confirm this. Nobody disputes that some policemen are better or smarter than others, or that some policemen are downright corrupt.

We shouldn't forget that these men know and are fully aware that they may be killed or hurt badly every time they suit up. But we as a nation need to support the police. Sea of Blue is an attempt to counter the lies and support good men (and women) in the police force. If we didn't have company on Saturday I would have gone downtown to add my support.
