No, I have to confess I'm not familiar with the man's work with Joni Mitchell. Back in the day, our photographer told me I should check that stuff out, she's about 10 years older than me, one of the last of the boomers.

As far as "girl album", I've become a bigger fan of female vocalists in recent years. I'll have to check out Hejira.

my friend's brother was about 20 and living in NY, hung out a lot with jaco in washington square park in the months before he died. my friend's brother was not a musician at all and had no idea who jaco was. i'm guessing at that point JP was doing more drinking (or whatever)than playing.
