Glenn Beck & Jonah Goldberg on the CARS.GOV thingy

IMHO, some of what I've heard Beck go off about is scare-mongering. OTOH, this is truly scary.

Sidebar: $19 million dollars for a website?? This is how government operates, man, completely outside the real marketplace. And that's an aspect which applies to Dems and GOP alike, unfortunately.

  1. Glenn Beck is providing an important service to this country. He does so sometimes imperfectly but he's more often right than wrong (scary but true)

in other news, i scan our working boy's blog daily with something like disgusted bemusement. While this country is exploding, Dreher posts with apparent incredulity about the fact that people in alaska live close to the wilderness and see moose and bear in their yards on occasion (newsflash to dreher, this has been known to happen in the lower 48....?). one of his commenters accused of him of writing about alaska like his new favorite rock band, which struck me as particularly insightful.

  2. I'm buying a rental property near the woods -- deer running around continuously like they own the place. My own backyard as well. Dreher's out of touch as are all elites.

  3. Hey, I even hit a deer once. Not my fault--that deer had a death wish. Just grazed her, but still had $800 worth of damage.

In other news, our woods here in NC have been known to harbor deer, bunnies, squirrels, bats, mice, groundhogs, copperheads, cottonmouths, and the world's biggest, meatiest moths.

    Nature. It's so...natural.

  4. Oh, I forgot the wild turkeys. And the box turtles. I think we saw a fox once, too.
