Poll: McCain & Obama Tied
(CBS) The presidential race between Barack Obama and John McCain is now even at 42 percent, according to a new CBS News poll conducted Monday-Wednesday of this week. Twelve percent are undecided according to the poll, and one percent said they wouldn't vote.
Uh-oh... Anyone's community need to be organized?

It may be a one-off to some degree, 700 RV=registered voters, not likely. Plus, doesn't the sample size seem small? But -- McCain was up in intrade this morning. Plus I heard another poll about a 9% swing in independents toward McCain from undecided + from supporting Obama.

Sample size always seems small.
ReplyDeleteI've been walked through the math on sample size a few times, and each time it makes sense, sort of. You can't really argue with the Central Limit Theorem. I know a statistician who says Las Vegas is filled with temples dedicated to the CLT.
But then, you can't really argue with the Harvard Law of Animal Behavior, either.
You can, though, argue with a poll that reports 99% of registered voters will vote for either McCain or Obama.
