It's, it's a Pledge Drive Blitz!

The answer to the question in the headline here is "Yes", obviously.

Here's my idea of what to do for Mr. Williams: Call NPR and PBS up during pledge drives and ask when they are going to rehire Juan Williams. Or just say "Rehire Juan Williams!" This is what I recommend if you are short on time.

If you have some time, pretend you are going to contribute a bunch of money. Go the whole way through until you get to the part where you are going to give them your credit card number. Then say, "By the way, are you going to apologize to Juan Williams and give him his job back?" When they start in with "Excuse me? Uhhhh..." just say "Well, forget it then," and hang up. Or if you're as sinister as me, you'll wait for awhile and hear what they have to say. It's even more fun to get hung up on. My guess is they get pranked a lot, well, I know they used to in Pittburgh at least some about 35 years ago, so they shouldn't over-react or mind too much. I doubt it's a commissioned position to sit in an NPR phone bank.

I'll publish numbers for this purpose in the future, or you can post them in the comments and will all call on the same day. Let's give these idiots a black eye.

  1. I wrote off NPR long ago, and anyway, the less Juan Williams on the airwaves the better. The guy is just too incoherent.

  6. what I mean to say is, I'm not persuaded old Juan wouldn't give a stunt like this his seal of approval had it happened to someone else

  7. Possible; I'm not here to bury or praise Williams. But libs see this as a major disaster, check it out. The left's intolerance for dissent is laid bare and FOX News comes out as the good guy. They are pissed.

  8. Here's the national number: 202-513-3232. I left a message for their ombudsman.

  9. It's just sad that republican politicians need an enormous fault-line like this to even discuss de-funding NPR. NPR has been a scandal for a long time.

  10. Kathleen, I agree. I think Newt et al actually talked about it back in the day, but just talk. We should axe funding to NPR, Ag Department, NEA & Education Departments for starters. Let Soros own NPR free and clear.

  11. I'm shocked that they actually describe George Soros as "liberal," and say that news organizations have no right accepting his money. Sure, you say that now that you've been called on it.

Also find it funny that Helen Thomas is pictured among the "blacklisted." There's a huge difference between saying you are afraid of people on a plane wearing Muslim garb because of what some Muslims actually did on planes, and saying *all* Jews should "go back where they came from." What specifically have Jews done? Oh, right, they control banking, entertainment and government. Otay.

  12. You can call and call and call, but my guess is that they simply don't care. They'll call you a name under their breath, and then go on in their little bubble, thinking they're out saving the unwashed.
